Duties: To assist surgeons, anesthesiologists and registered professional nurses in the care of the patient in the operating room.
Requirements: Requires a high school degree and level of knowledge as acquired through completion of Surgical technology program. Must have completed a course to provide a minimum level of training for Surgical Assistants; or received on the job training and provide a letter of recommendation from organization; or must complete this training within one year of employment. Preferred: AST.
