DUTIES: Our Respiratory Therapists provide respiratory care to patients as ordered by physician, according to established standards and practices. Respiratory Therapists can work on general patient floors, the Emergency Department, ICU, and NICU. Some of the duties include performing floor therapy, ventilator management, setup and assisting with emergent bedside and scheduled diagnostic bronchoscopy procedures, and identifying abnormal/normal pulmonary data, ABG’s, chest x-rays, and lab values. The therapist may assist staff with other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS of a Respiratory Therapist: Graduate from accredited Respiratory Therapy program required. Current Wisconsin certification, registry, or license is required. CPR required. ICU experience strongly preferred. BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NALS strongly preferred.
