Responsible for basic biomedical engineering duties and assisting with the installation, maintenance, modification, demonstration, and repair of highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices. Assists with the training of clinical department staff and provides technical support to clinical departments in an area of expertise. Performs basic technical and advisory work with clinical department staff assisting in the development of processes/procedures relative to clinical use of technologies.
· Skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience with Biomedical Equipment, which includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting experience, design and modification.
· Associates Degree in Biomedical Electronics (or similar Electronics Degree) or Military/Technical Certificate in Biomedical Electronics with at least three years experience working in a healthcare environment.
· Certification by the ICC (International Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology), CMET (Certification for Biomedical Equipment Technicians), CRES (Certification for Radiology Equipment Specialists), and/or CLES (Certification for Clinical Laboratory Specialists) is preferred.
· Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products (primarily Word, Outlook, and Excel).
· Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of networking technology.
This position will assist the department providing coverage as needed and will not be regularly scheduled for hours.
